Treetop Acres! We're a family-owned tree farm in Lockport, NY, and we'd love to partner with professional and semi-professional photographers like you.

Think less studio, more natural charm, and real holiday magic. Whether you’re planning festive holiday mini-sessions, heartfelt family portraits, cozy engagement shoots, or even some unique seasonal branding shots, our acres are ready for you.

Photographer Requirements

  • All photographers must provide proof of general liability insurance with the following minimums:

    • $1,000,000 per occurrence

    • $2,000,000 aggregate

    • Coverage must list Treetop Acres, 3936 Lower Mountain Road, Lockport NY 14094 as additional insured for the date(s) of your session

    • The certificate must be delivered to us at least 7 business days prior to the shoot

    • The policy must cover bodily injury, property damage, and personal liability associated with your work

    • You must hold all necessary business licensing in your jurisdiction

    • You must obtain written permission for any commercial use of images that include the farm property

    • Drone flights (if applicable) must be pre‐approved and follow FAA & local regulations

    • No cutting or removing of trees, branches, or farm property unless pre‐approved

    • Stay within designated session areas; follow farm signage and staff direction

    • If your clients bring their pets, dogs must be on leash and cleaned up after

    • Sessions must not interfere with regular public farm operations or safety zones (e.g., equipment, tree-cutting areas)

    • A session fee will be required and is customized per date/time; contact us for current rate

    • You must schedule your session in advance with our farm manager to confirm date/time and logistics

    • Cancellation policy: Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance; fees may apply for late cancellations

🌲 Photographer TIPS

Here's the quick rundown for shooting at Treetop Acres! We want to make sure your session runs super smoothly.

Check-In:
When you arrive, just stop by the barn first
to let us know you're here.

Parking:
We have a specific client parking area.
Please make sure you direct your clients to park there so everything stays organized.

Restrooms:
There is a clean porta-potty available
on-site for you and your clients.

Weather:
Since we’re an outdoor venue, we are always watching the forecast. If the weather looks unsafe (think ice, high winds, or lightning), we reserve the right to reschedule for everyone's safety.

Props & staging:
Feel free to bring your favorite portable props like chairs, blankets, or light stands. Just a friendly reminder to please pack up everything you bring in once your session is finished!

Lighting:
The natural light out here is fantastic! We especially recommend aiming for that beautiful golden hour glow.

When to shoot:
Our prime booking windows are in the fall and early winter for the holiday season. If you have an idea for a spring or summer shoot, just ask—we can look at off-season sessions on a case-by-case basis!

 FAQS

  • A: We allow booking of designated zones for your session time. While the farm remains open to the public during peak season, we strive to provide a space where your clients are comfortable and not crowded by other activities. We do strongly recommend quieter days/time slots for premium imagery.

  • A: Yes, dogs are welcome for approved dog-friendly sessions. They must be kept on a leash, under control, and all waste must be cleaned up by the photographer/client.

  • A: We will monitor conditions. If the farm is unsafe due to ice, flooding, lightning or severe weather, we’ll work with you to reschedule. The photographer is responsible for client notice and coordination.

  • A: Yes — you must clearly state the intended use (personal portraits vs. commercial advertising) when booking the space. Commercial usage (models for hire, brand shoots) may incur higher fees and require additional approval.

  • A: After your date/time is confirmed, we’ll issue an invoice with the session fee and any added services. Payment is required prior to your shoot unless otherwise agreed.

  • A: Yes — we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. If you cancel after that window, a cancellation fee may apply or your deposit may be forfeited. Rescheduling is possible subject to availability.

How to Book

Email us at hello@visittreetopacres.com with the following information:

  • Your business name, website/portfolio link

  • Target date(s) and time(s) for your session

  • Type of session (holiday minis, family, engagement, commercial, etc)

  • Estimated number of clients/models + pets (if any)

  • Intended usage of images (personal portraits vs. commercial advertising)

    We’ll review availability, send you the session agreement, and fee schedule.

    Provide your liability insurance certificate listing “Treetop Acres, 3936 Lower Mountain Road, Lockport, NY 14094” as additional insured at least 7 business days before your shoot.

    Once the fee is paid and insurance approved, you’re all set! On your shoot day, check in
    at the barn and we’ll make some photographic magic.

    Note: We reserve the right to decline any booking that doesn’t align with our farm’s values, safety protocols, or scheduling guidelines.
