Celebrating Earth Day & Arbor Day with 2,000 New Trees

Here at Treetop Acres, Earth Day and Arbor Day aren’t just dates on the calendar — they’re near and dear to our hearts and central to everything we do.

On the weekends bookending these Earth Week celebrations, we’re proud to share that we’re planting another 2,000 new trees, continuing our commitment to sustainability, stewardship, and growth.

🌱 Planting More Than Trees

Those 2,000 seedlings represent far more than future Christmas trees. They are:

  • Carbon absorbers, helping remove CO₂ from the atmosphere

  • Oxygen producers, improving air quality for our community

  • Wildlife habitats, supporting birds, pollinators, and small animals

  • Soil protectors, reducing erosion and enriching the land

With every new tree we get into the ground, we’re actively investing in a healthier environment. It’s a cycle we’ll be proud to sustain — planting, growing, harvesting, and replanting — year after year.

One of our favorite parts is getting young people involved. We have some very impressive high schoolers helping out with planting this year, and a group of even younger helpers — including our favorite 10-year-old and her friends — who come out to be a part of this meaningful work.

💧 Growing Smarter: A Sustainable Leap Forward

In case you missed our latest blog post, this year is particularly exciting for us, as we are incredibly grateful to have received a grant from the Niagara Soil and Water Conservation District, which is helping us take a major step forward in sustainable farming.

With their support, we are:

  • Installing a new on-site pond to improve water management and conservation

  • Implementing solar power to run pumps and irrigation systems

  • Reducing our environmental footprint while increasing efficiency

This new system will allow us to irrigate our trees more responsibly, using renewable energy and stored water resources. It’s a meaningful investment not just in our farm — but in the future of sustainable agriculture.

🌲LET’S ALL DO OUR PART

As we reflect on all of these little wins, we can’t help but think about how small actions can grow into a truly lasting impact.

The 2026 Earth Week theme is "Our Power, Our Planet”, which reminds us that caring for the land doesn’t require grand gestures. Each of us has the power to drive positive change — and collective progress is sustained by individual daily action. It’s the small, consistent choices we make that truly shape the future of our planet.

Simple, intentional steps really add up over time. If you’re looking for ways to step up your own Earth Week game, here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Plant something — Whether it’s a tree, flowers for pollinators, or even a small garden, getting your hands in the soil is a powerful way to connect with nature, and there’s a great chance you’ll really enjoy yourself.

  • Support your local farms and growers — Not a green thumb? No worries. Choosing to buy locally grown products reduces transportation impact and supports sustainable agriculture right in our own community.

  • Reduce single-use plastics — Swap disposable items for reusable bags, bottles, and containers whenever you can.

  • Conserve water and energy — Turn off lights, unplug devices, and be mindful of water use at home.

  • Spend time outdoors — Take a walk, visit a park, or simply enjoy your own backyard. We’ve found that when we connect with nature, we’re more inspired to protect it.

  • Learn and share — Talk with your family and friends about sustainability and encourage others to take small steps, too.

When we all do a little, it grows into something big. 🌲💚

Thanks for following along — and for doing your part.
Happy Earth Week! 🌍
